I normally use medium armor, and if I want to be extra fast I use light armor.

Don’t get me wrong, I like the looks of chunkier armor, it is more my style.

But what is the use for heavy armor? I understand you are tougher to kill, but I am always left behind because it is slower.

Also I am still thrown around with explosions and I can’t still be killed easily when overwhelmed, which I can avoid with medium or light armor by just healing constantly and running away.

So in what situations or what is the tactical advantage of heavy armor?

I only use it on defense missions where I don’t have to run. And even then, half the time I forget to set it. I like the light armor best, specifically the Legionnaire Armor so I can yeet stratagems super far.

Oh definitely super fun to destroy bot factories with eagle air strikes from so far away haha, and just move to the next bot factory.

Second the legionnaire strategy. Eagle air strike strategem and I take out the outposts before they ever see me.

I feel like Heavy Armor isn’t going to find a niche until we get more vehicles and make running less of a mandatory activity.

Honestly I don’t see the use for it at all. You can’t tank, you can’t run, you can’t do anything with it outside of die. That one extra hit from a small bug isn’t really going to do crap so it’s better to run and gun.

What? You’ve never tanked wearing the armor equivalent of the Michelin Man suit?

It sucks for moving, but it’s excellent for small defense maps like high value target and eradicate missions. Unless you need to run from guys with chainsaw hands or bile titans, or hulks…

    Yeah, no, it’s shit.

Heavy Armor + Guard Dog Rover + Machine Gun on lowest firerate. Keep your distance to the squad, crouch and do short bursts for fire support. If things get spicy go full auto and let the armors recoil reduction do its job till you’re empty. Keep an eye on your Guard Dog and radar to not get flanked by a new patrol. Extremely fun and useful combo.

Against Bugs? Never. But for Bots, it can really shine. The Blast resistance (esp. for Rockets) combined with decreased recoil is nice. Being able to take more stray fire also helps. Berserkers can be an issue, but good positioning helps a great deal. Just don’t let them drop on top of you, retain good sightlines.

Stationary missions like termination or evac. Aside from that kind of mission I always run light armor. Heavy armor works very well on stationary missions because you’re running around a lot less, so the slow speed downside doesn’t matter as much.
