On June 30, 2024, 100,000 Jews protested in Jerusalem against Isr•el’s high court’s recent decision to draft Orthodox men into the Isr•eli army. Anti-Zionist Jews refuse to serve in the Isr•eli army and carry out its actions. According to Judaism, Jews are forbidden to occupy another land, have their own sovereign state, or wage wars against any nation.
Protest banners read: “Isr•el’s army is a brainwashing cult” and “The Zionist army does not serve the citizens; it serves Zionism.” Banners displayed on poles read: “We will not enlist in the enemy army!”
A banner on a building in the center of the protest read: “The Jewish nation is against the Zionist bloodshed committed in the name of the Jewish nation.” Other banners read: “I am a Jew, therefore I will not enlist in the Zionist army” and “Zionists use Jews as human shields.”
During the protest, Zionist police ruthlessly attacked protestors. Zionist police carelessly injured protestors with horses. Police used water cannons to spray chemical skunk water on protestors. Young boys confronted police harassment.
While the anti-Zionist Jews in Israel have my support, I feel they’re fighting a losing battle and always have been, and the smart choice is to get the hell out. Being used as meat shields for the genocidal settler regime, and for the other genocidal settler regimes (the Anglo-Americans) which imposed that regime (Israel) as their means of having a permanent chokehold on the region- was always their fate.
As for the Zionist Orthodox who wanted to have their cake and eat it too- this was always their fate as well (and good riddance). They joined the empire’s unsinkable aircraft carrier for the benefits or their own religious extremism, and thought they could be anything other than the meat shields they were always intended to be when the time came? L(Mao)… they entered the mousetrap- the western world’s way of destroying, enslaving, and exterminating Semites (Jews and Arabs, and Jewish Arabs alike)- now they get to reap the true rewards.
