Widespread sexual abuse and dangerously moldy ships are two notable scandals the Canadian forces have had recently, as part of a larger growing infamy, and terms of service last a lot longer than in America. Their response to beef up recruitment is… relaxed facial hair restrictions.
Fixed. For whatever reason, it’s always hard to catch those little errors in the first draft. I know it’s “their”, but my fingers think it’s all the same.
What I think needs to happen, without being deeply involved, is just a top-to-bottom rethink of the organisation. When I read about the Canadian forces, it sounds like they’re still set up like a British Empire garrison, basically. That speaks to young Canadians neither ideologically nor as a desirable workplace. Also, just having actual funding for things like removing toxic mould would be good.
A crumb of context?
