Tostada (1960s): $2.19
Green Burrito (1970s): $2.49.
Meximelt (1980s): $2.99.
Beef Gordita Supreme (1990s): $2.99
Caramel Apple Empanada (2000s): $2.99.
Hot damn the caramel apple empanadas were awesome! When I used to go snow camping in Boy Scouts we’d buy a few of them and individually vacuum seal them. During the trip you’d dunk a pouch in boiling water and a few minutes later you’d have a really delicious dessert.
The tostada left the menu when the comparatively worse but more expensive Mexican pizza and it’s juggernaut marketing campaign kicked in.
