I’ve been quite busy this past week so still reading The Seven Moons of Maali Almeida and listening to Adult Children of Emotionally Immature Parents. Both are excellent!
Right now I’m reading Fourth Wing by Rebecca Yarros.
Still enjoying the first read I see 👌
I think I saw the second book mentioned on Lemmy somewhere last week.
Podcast don’t count right? My latest reads were fanfic and space related articles.
I think podcasts can count depending on what they are tbh
Good to know! The podcast in question was by The Thinking Mind: Psychiatry & Psychotherapy.
I think I might give that a listen, I feel like it counts
Yay, it’s a good one, hope you’ll like it! I am a new listener myself, ended up taking notes from one of the episodes even.
I think this week the books will be Voices from the Valley and The Glass Planet.
Have you read any of Voices from the Valley yet? The summary sounds interesting. I always like to get a peek into other people’s work. Just wondering how much detail the book goes into.
Yeah! So the book is just edited candid interviews of people. I thought it was really interesting and very in depth. The caveat being that we don’t know how truthful some of these people are, but that’s the fun in candid interviews, right?
Oh, totally! I think I’ll check it out, sounds right up my alley. Kind of like the London above and London below of the tech world.
I’ve been on a massive Stephen King bender for the past 3 months. I’ve been reading 11.22.63 as of this week.
That’s been on my TBR for ages! How do you like it so far?
Yeah, so far it’s really good! I’m only about a third through but I’ve been enjoying it.
I’m on my first book in German! I have been studying the language for a while, but I finally went for it. Progress is slow, and quite some details are literally lost in translation, but I am enjoying “the judge and his executioner” by Duerenmatt.
The first time is always hard, but it’s a neat feeling, isn’t it? I don’t even really mind that I don’t understand everything. I’m just happy I can understand something.
Duerrnmatt has some things that could make it challenging for a first read, too. But there’s so much fun stuff to read in German.
Reading a book in another language is a impressive feat especially if its your first time! You should be proud of yourself. I’m extremely jealous with all the literary possibilities you have opened yourself to
I recently found out that a person I remember from my childhood in a small village in Småland Sweden became a writer. He writes horror stories about small villages in Småland. So now I’m reading his book “Fyra minuter”, by Johan Ring. I remember as a young teenager he was in a hard rock band and made a song called “Killed by death.”
I’ve been on a small hiatus, haven’t found the motivation to read, but right now I’m reading James Joyce’s Ulysses alongside Branislav Nušić’s Autobiography. There is basically two years between the novels!
Having another crack at lemmys autobiography white line fever. Will see how it goes.
