As the question says, I need to install a Linux distribution that is relatively stable. With CentOS Stream or RHEL, the packages are very old, and I want to avoid resorting to Ubuntu. I was considering the possibility of using the penultimate version of Fedora as I have sometimes seen suggested, but I realized that at least the kernel and many packages I use are updated to the same version as the latest Fedora release.
