Dear all,

I recently picked up a (used) NUC7i5BNH which is running perfectly so far. I gave it a cleaning, switched the thermal paste, cleaned it from all the dust etc.

I installed Proxmox on it but the only thing which is annoying me, is the fan. The CPU seems to run 2,2Ghz all the time and the fan is spinning at high RPM all the time even though I selected “fanless” in the bios. The CPU runs at about 44°.

Steps I tried to fix this issue:

Select “quiet” and “fanless” setting in BIOS

Set CPU governor to “ondemand”

Cleaned the case and swapped thermal paste

I got no other ideas left, thats why I am trying it here.

There must be a way to get that fan spinning at lower RPM…

Thanks in advance.
