Imma 30 yr old black woman, 5”2 150lbs. I’m going to be starting electrician school in October. My background is mostly in clerical and call center work which I absolutely hated. I saw on the news that there was an electrician shortage and that they will pay through school and training, and the longterm $$ was good, so after doing some research I signed up. I’m noticing there aren’t a lot of ppl like me in the field, which ofc idc about BUT I want to be able to physically handle the job, especially since my prior job experience has been mostly sedentary. I also want to know what are some soft skills I should start learning? For example, my cousin is a contractor and he said I should start learning Spanish. Are there any other ways I can start prepping mentally and physically before school starts in a couple months? I’m really excited and eager to learn. Any advice would be appreciated. Thx
