So I recently bought an aoc 27g2u which is a 144hz monitor but I don’t have a display port cable 1.2 or above that I need for my monitor. So under the HD resolution section the highest I can get is 120hz. But under the “PC” section below the HD column resolutions it says 1920 x 1080 and it allows me to put my rr at 144hz, is that normal?

It allows me to put it to 144hz in pc regardless of what hdmi or dp cable I use, I used an old Xbox 360 hdmi to test it and it still allowed me to use 144hz in PC, surely that hdmi is too old to allow me to get 144hz in 1080 right? So if I purchase the correct display port cable will it allow me to put my refresh rate to 144hz under the HD 1920-1080 instead of the PC one? Thank you and sorry for dumb question.
