I’m aware that people have a serious thing for Superquinn sausages but I’ve never seen any mention of their doughnuts. Unlike the sausage, as far as I can tell the doughnuts disappeared with the Superquinn brand. These doughnuts were hands down the best jam doughnuts in the country, which to my mind makes them the best doughnuts in the country (none of your fancy shite). Their replacement in SuperValu isn’t a patch on the original. Is anyone aware of anywhere still making anything close to that original Superquinn jam doughnut? It’s a destination dessert for me.
