Hi,

I know the two most common scenarios for outputting 16:9 display input on an ultrawide is either having two black bars or stretching the image horizontally.

I’m hoping to find out if there are monitors out there that support filling the 16:9 display with full screen, so no black bars on the sides but cutting off the top and bottom of the 16:9 image. Are there monitors with this setting? I’m not sure if this is common feature.

The reason is, on top of using the ultrawide for pc, I also want to use it for watching Blu-ray movies on my PS4. I think this is a possible solution if I can make the 16:9 image fill the screen horizontally removing the top and bottom black bars.

Disclaimer: yes I know PS4/PS5 are not compatible with ultra wide, I’ve read the posts about this. But I want to know if this is remotely possible while considering which one to buy. I can’t find the answer to this from posts online or from the spec pages of a monitors.

Thanks, appreciate any help!
