My pihole is acting very strangely at the moment whereby it’s nearly constantly being capped at the rate-limit (pretty much regardless of what it’s set at). Uncapping the rate-limit has rocketed up to almost 40k requests in a single 10-minute slice of the query chart.
It’s pretty much a fresh install on Ubuntu Server 22.04 LTS, Pihole, PiVPN, and Tailscale all installed bare-metal, and a couple of containers. This PiHole instance also acts as the DHCP server for the network (with a static IP for itself) I have similar setups (identical except for the others don’t act as DHCP) to this all of which are fine and behaving entirely normally. The only recent change to this install was PiVPN was reconfigured from UDP:443 to TCP:443.
I’ve tried reset/reinstalls of both Pihole/PiVPN from their install scripts, and it’s still the same.
I’d rather not have to rebuild this machine from scratch as it’s now geographically remote to me.
Any assistance in figuring out what’s going on would be very much appreciated.
