I want to travel outside Europe from mid-November to mid-December on a budget of around 5k euros including flights from Europe.

I don’t have any special interests apart from the usual hiking, admiring natural scenery and discovering cities. Would like dry weather but not necessarily warm. My original plan was to go to Argentina, Patagonia in particular, but have since realised I don’t have the budget for it as I’d want to fly between regions rather than spend full days/nights on buses. Also want to stay in private rooms not dorms. I’m now leaning towards central America (Guatemala, El Salvador and Nicaragua) but can’t say I’m all that excited about this part of the world, especially because of the lack of safety. I’ve been to most southeast Asian countries already, China, Japan, Ecuador, Peru, Mexico, new Zealand, south Africa and Morocco.

Any recommendations ?
