I am a very sheltered person, lol. I’ve never left my state! But I decided on a whim to go on a trip to visit my friend who’s in a completely different state. (Flight is North Carolina to Maine) I’ve never even been to an airport, it’s wild.
Anyways, I’m a bit conflicted. Neither of us are well off, so we are trying to figure out the best ticket for the best price. The one we were leaning towards is United (price is about $440) but basic economy, which worries me because you don’t get a carry on bag and I have medication that I require daily or I’ll have severe medical issues. If my bag got lost or delayed I’d be fucked. So today I found another flight for around $500 (including fees) with American. This flight is also a direct flight, so it’d be twice as fast.
I’m not sure what to do. I wanna still have the money to actually do things together but I’m not sure if I should take the risk and do the cheaper option… What do y’all think? Does luggage get lost that often?
Thank you!
