Hi everyone,
My travel insurance company just denied my claim for trip cancellation and I want to know how to fight it. Basically, here’s what happened.
I was in Lima, Peru flying Jet Blue back to the US. Jet Blue canceled my flight because the plane coming from Miami couldn’t leave because of a storm. They could not get me on a new flight or a partner airline out of Lima for 2 days. I had to work, so I purchased my own flight on United for $600. Jet Blue reimbursed me for the $400 I paid for the original flight, but I want to get the remaining $200 covered my insurance.
I used World Nomads trip insurance, but I also purchased the original itinerary using my Chase sapphire preferred, so I also have travel insurance through them. How to I best claim this loss and get my $$200 difference back.
Also……if they don’t cover canceled flights…what the hell is the point of paying for insurance!!
