I have been looking at methods to share large files between people occasionally. Needs to have an auth mechanism if it’s gonna be made public even for a short amount of time. Files will be local to the machine (not mounted by smb etc)

Sftp seems to be a good option although I have heard that it’s prone to slowdowns when dealing with people who are far away and rtt is high due to the ssh protocol design. Is this true?

Not sure on other options which are secure and fast tbh so hoping someone can chime in with some advice.
