people say that tor is not 100% anonymous I disagree. How is tor trackable? correlation attacks is not a thing here is why. lets say 3 of the nodes are controlled by the NSA that would not matter, because the first node lets say (france) know its from you. the second node in canada knows its from france and the third node america knows the site and knows it was sent on by canada.

so how is this traceable? because the NSA does not know the full path only the user knows. the american exit node knows its from canada, and canada knows its from france but how do they know thats the same user? thousends of people are using the nodes so you cant tell. so if you control the three nodes in the circuit you cant know that, because each node only knows where to go and to send, remember only the user knows the full tor circuit.

even two nodes is not tracable because you cant tell if its the same user.

the only way to crack tor is if your the only one on the whole tor network but rather there are millions.

so there is three problems to correlate traffic.

  1. you don’t know if you have the full circuit, only the user knows the full circuit.
  2. there are thousands of the millions that go through these 3 nodes, so you cant correlate the traffic.
  3. anyway its virtually impossible to have control over 3 nodes of the circuit, even though you dont know you control the 3 nodes.
