Hello All,

I’m about to move our network of about (10) 24- and 48-port Unifi POE Pro switches and 50 or so AP’s from a 255.255.0.0 subnet to 255.255.240.0 and am trying to anticipate any issues I may encounter. The switches have static IP’s and the AP’s run on DHCP, as does most of the rest of the network. We run a cloud key gen 2+ for the controller. DHCP is done by Windows Server and the gateway is a Sonicwall.

I am reducing the size due to the fact the previous IT company had no reason to go that large, and its causing headaches. I want to keep some flexibility as we do assign custom IP ranges based on MAC addresses, but don’t need 64K available.

Should I move all the Unifi hardware to DHCP first? What else am I going to need to look out for?
