Hi, looking for some feedback on this proposed build. I love building my own boxes, last time was 5-6 years ago with a couple of upgrades here and there. This is my first AMD build and I’m excited to try it out with the kiddos helping here and there.

This is mostly a gaming rig, I mainly go 1440 or 1080 (since I Steam Link to the TV in the family room). My intent here is to do a solid build now with room to grow in the future piecemeal as I go. I don’t really care about flash or looks, it’ll sit under my desk and do the needful.

Feedback absolutely welcome, but my main thoughts right now are: 1) I’m pretty sure that’s a solid cooler for the chip, would love people cut checking that. 2) The graphics card. I’m rolling with a 6650XT right now which is okay, but I want some splash with this build and a card I run with for a couple years to come. My monitor is a Freesync compatible, not GSync, so I’d prefer to stay in the AMD ecosystem. Ray-tracing isn’t a thing I need now. 3) I still like the idea of the OS on one SSD, apps/games on another, music/photos and other stuff on an old platter drive for cost reasons. 4) I’ve never had a Lian Li case, but I’ve heard they’re solid.

There you go. I welcome questions or comments!
