My Lenovo Legion prebuilt desktop has a 1660 Super. I had a 1080p 144hz monitor and recently bought a 1080p 165hz monitor as well. When I only had the 144hz monitor, there were no issues at all. Recently, after including the second 165hz monitor, my PC would be very buggy and laggy. For example, on Chrome, pictures will not load, and even creating/deleting folders on the PC will freeze up. I have already changed my 165hz monitor’s display setting to be 144hz as well, but it did not help. I can also no longer put it back to 165hz if that makes a difference.
144hz monitor is a MSI G271, 165hz monitor is a MSI G273. One is plugged in via HDMI and the other is plugged in via DisplayPort.
So, do I need to upgrade my graphics card? I’m assuming it’s my graphics card due to the circumstances above. And if I do need to upgrade, is a 3060 or 3060 Ti good enough?
For reference, this is the rest of the build:
- Windows 11
- Lenovo 3716 motherboard (AMD B550)
- AMD Ryzen 7 5800
- 16GB DDR4 RAM (3200 MHz)
- 256GB SSD
- 1TB HDD (7200 RPM)
- 400W Power Supply
- 150W Air Cooling
I have tried doing all Windows updates as well, including optional driver updates, but still to no avail.
