I’m trying to figure out how I can install Ubuntu (specifically Ubuntu 22.04.2 EDIT: or Ubuntu 18.04.3 LTS, I haven’t fully decided on a specific distro yet, unsure if it matters) on to an external SSD that I can then plug into my laptop or my pc (via USB 3.2) and boot that distro up and use it.

I’ve been trying to Google around and find a guide or tutorial on how to do so and if there’s any hardware restrictions to look out for when trying to do this but have only been finding things about dual-boot which from my understanding entails installing the distro onto an internal storage device and then switching between OS’s somehow.

I just want to see if there’s any guides that are known but I haven’t been able to find or if there’s a better alternative to accomplish what I’m trying to do.
