Apologies for my ignorance in advanced. The assumption I’ve made is that a USB-C cable, on it’s own, cannot possess any malicious software. However, I’d rather turn to the experts (y’all) to verify. I’ve conducted research, but cannot find a definitive answer.
I’m asking this because I bought a USB-C from Amazon from an unfamiliar brand, and this concern did not strike me until I received the cable and was about to use it. The use for the cable is to connect a mac to a monitor.
Thanks
UPDATE:
Thanks for the answers, the conclusion seems to be that it’s possible, but highly unlikely if purchased from Amazon.
This prompts another question - would you trust a cable from a source such as Temu or Wish?
