    This is what happens when you turn politics into two sided shit slinging, team red v team blue, us vs them, my favorite football team vs their shitty rival.

      I suppose so, but we usually only see this level of fanaticism from one of the sides, and it happens to be the side that turned politics into a massive clown show.

      Well, publicly anyway. In the last 50 years.

        this is true, but we still have to be careful not to do it on either side, even liberals will “other team” the republicans more often than not, which doesn’t help, regardless of how accurate it is…

      I don’t have a favorite football team in this analogy. I have one team that really could do better in a great many ways, and another that wants to turn us into a Gilead-style post-apocalyptic right wing authoritarian wet dream.

      So yeah, anyone but those guys, please.
