Fair warning, I’m might mention spoilers for Game of Thrones, The Walking Dead, The Boys. In case you haven’t seen them yet.
Can television cause PTSD? I really wonder if it affects people months or years later after watching some of these violent episodes of characters they love. GoT Red Wedding, Glenn being beaten to death in Walking Dead, all the exploded people in The Boys.
From what I heard, first responders can get PTSD from even one incident, so why couldn’t television scenes have perhaps a weaker but still relevant affect on people? I know some of the sensory reactions aren’t there for television, like smells. But still, watch some reaction videos on YouTube and see how freaked out people get. Makes me wonder how if affects long term.
