I wanted to hear your opinion about rent control in CH. I’m not agaist it per sé, however I was recently randomly chating with an friend discussing about rent prices, and end up that he is paying half of my rent for a comparable size apartment in two not too distant area of the town. The main difference I changed apartment last year while he in the same apartment since 10/8 years. Now I get that with the current real estate prices, rent control, helps to make housing affordable, however on the other end how fair is it expecially on young people that end up paying substantially higher rent than senior citizens? and also does rent control lead to underinvestment in real estate that lead to higher real estate price cutting off the market a large portion of population?
