it would be intersting to get a side-by-side pic of then and now
hey thanks!
Trump’s version looks like the speech the Emperor gives announcing a new super weapon to crush the Rebel Scum.
Looks like a smaller turnout for shitler.
Interesting :
20,000 Nazi attendees inside.
100,000 antifa coutnter-protesters oustide.
2,300 police outside and inside.
The Bellamy Salute was used by schoolkids in The Pledge of Allegiance until 1942(basically the Nazi salute).
And the pledge of allegiance was invented by a desperate grifter that needed to sell excess flag inventory. He targeted school classrooms. Pledge also didn’t originally have the “God” part either. All true, will try to add link to a good video if I can find
Same with American currency.
Frankly, the “under god” part kinda fucks up the flow of it.
“I pledge allegiance to the flag of the United States of America, and to the republic for which it stands, one nation, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all”
When you cut out the “under god”, it becomes clear that the idea of the pledge is that America is about the unity between the states and its myriad peoples. Throwing “under god” in there was a cynical Cold War propaganda tactic.
All that said, it’s a weird ritual regardless.
And people insist America isn’t full of its own propaganda. We’re so high on our own supply we can’t agree on basic facts about reality anymore whenever they clash with American nationalistic narcissism.
Sorry for writing so much, apparently I needed to let that rant out.
This primer in the edit is really good. Is there a way to ensure it is available long term?
Steal it. Post it in comments that need a reminder. Spread it around.
I share this as often as I can: https://youtu.be/iQ0ct9bglYo?si=1DTzZ8Z3ml-o-ypf
Bill Clinton held his rally there too.
And KISS played their last show there. It’s got a lot of history.
Billy Joel played there a lot!
Ah yes, the famous NAZI band, KISS.
Since when was Bill Clinton a nazi? I think I missed a step.
He’s not. They’re trying to link the fact that Trump held a rally at MSG and Hitler held one there, therefore, Trump is a Nazi. But that’s stupid, because Bill Clinton held a political rally there when he was running too. So did RFK. So did many Democrat president candidates.
No, they’re not basing it on the fact that trump had an event there, but that it was almost indistinguishable from a Nazi rally by its topics and demeanor.
They’re saying that trump is a Nazi because of the Nazi slogans he repeats.
They’re saying it wasn’t the first Nazi rally, because Nazis had one before there.
It wasn’t. At all.
He’s not repeating Nazi slogans.
And I just found out it’s not even the same building. It’s location has moved twice. It’s such a lame stretch to try and link the two. It’s sad
Sometimes a thing can be different, but reflect the same ideas.
Hitler did not hold one there. The American Bund / Friends of New Germany did, which had little if any real connection to the Nazi Party of Germany besides similar ideals.
Ah, my bad. The American Nazi party held one there. :)
Actually the American Nazy Party never did either. The German American Bund and the Friends of New Germany are not political parties and are more like social clubs. A Moose Lodge for American Nazis.
I think they’re saying Trump is a nazi because all the fascist rhetoric that keeps coming out of him and his associates. The rally was just… extra spectacle.
There is no fascist rhetoric coming from trump or those hes adding to his transition team.
I’m not having this fight with you. Either you can acknowledge that there are parallels or you can’t.
Dear God! I bet they drink water like the Nazis did too!
Especially funny when (German) Nazis use Fraktur, but of “Old English” type as its preinstalled on Windows.
TIL
What a neat connection.
Make America Great Austria? :p
OH. MY. GOD!
The only way you wouldn’t see the overlap is if you’re not paying attention.
Trump has basically paraphrased from Hitler on numerous occasions, has the support of the KKK and neonazis. All he does is spread hate.
The comparison here is valid.
