Frustration over the cost-of-living crisis has led to several mass protests in recent months. In August, at least 20 people were shot dead and hundreds more were arrested at a protest demanding better opportunities and jobs for young people.

So from the sounds they’ve been locked up for 90 days, but bail has been posted and they won’t die? What a confusing story to follow.

Bail was set at a number but not paid so theymre still there, and $5,900USD per child, so $59,000USD is probably not exactly easier to come by in a place as fucked up for the working class as Nigeria. It said 90 days “without food”, which I struggle to believe because I don’t think we can survive three months without food, but I can easily believe that they are not getting enough to eat.

Anyway I’m not sure what you aren’t following.

You’re thinking about water. you’ve got maybe 3 days without water. You can survive a hell of a long time without food depending on your bodies fat stores and eventually muscle.

I’m guessing poor children in Nigeria don’t have a large amount of fat and muscle to use like that.

I’m definitely not thinking about water but nice randoming shoehorning of that fact, I guess.

It does beg the question as to why, or how the kids are getting access to water but not food.
