Hi, everyone! A few of you have brought to my attention that lemmy.world is not receiving new posts from fanaticus and vice versa.

I’ve been debugging it and haven’t been able to resolve the issue. Fanaticus’ nginx logs are reporting that all requests incoming from lemmy.world are returning a 400. Additionally, we’ve found that outbound requests to lemmy.world from fanaticus are being responded to with a CloudFlare page.

I am reaching out to the lemmy.world admins to see if we can get fanaticus’s IP whitelisted on their CF config. I’ll update this thread with any news.

Yeah, seems like it has been going on for at least a week based on the missing posts I’m noticing at miamihurricanes@fanaticus.social. Glad it’s being addressed, and hoping it gets resolved soon!

Now it makes sense why I stopped seeing your daily countdown posts! I was a little concerned. I went ahead and added this account as a mod to the Miami community.

I would imagine that they should sync when federation is resolved.

Also, are you a Jets fan also? I just realized you’ve been posting over there so I was going to make you a mod of that community so that there is one less community for me to take care of this season.

Yup, Jets fan as well. Yeah feel free to add this account and my lemmy.world accounts as mods. Until things stabilize at .world I’ll probably be back and forth on these accounts.

    August 19th Update Part 2

I’ve finally made contact with the lemmy.world admins and they have confirmed that we were added to a CF blocklist. We have just been removed from the blocklist. I think the game bot traffic may have gotten us in some hot water. We may have to turn down the chatter the bots in order to save them some bandwidth.

I have confirmed that fanaticus.social can reach lemmy.world now. I am starting to see 200 responses mixed in with the usually wall of 400s coming from lemmy.world so hopefully things will start to clear up shortly.

Hi. One of their admins did respond to an email I sent. They’re going to add fanaticus’ IP address to their CF allowlist. Then we can see where we’re at.

Thanks! It seems like every time I check in on .world there is another issue diverting their attention. I guess that comes with the territory for large instances. Appreciate your efforts either way!

    August 19th Update

An admin from lemmy.world has responded to my support ticket last week regarding whitelisting fanaticus’s IP in Cloudflare. They requested my IP address, which I provided immediately, but it appears we have not been added to the whitelist still.

I’ve contacted them again a couple of times to follow up. Hopefully there will be better news soon.
