Have one character with around 85 hours near the end of the game and lost interest.

A year later started an entirely different build and put in around 15 hours, lost interest.

It is a great game and I’m a big souls fan generally but I haven’t managed to actually finish it yet xD

It’s worth it! My journey began exactly like yours, but before the DLC release I wanted to prepare, so I actually finished all remembrance bosses in base game AND speed-ran a second character to Mohg. All in all I’m now close to 500 hours and have finished the last boss twice, and it’s been awesome! Just gotta set goals.

I seem to do this a lot with souls games. I had Demons Souls around release and couldn’t get into it at all but then picked it up again when Dark Souls was announced and couldn’t get enough of it.

Got Dark Souls on release and couldn’t get into it then picked it up again a year later and couldn’t get enough of it.

Got Dark Souls 2 on release and sort of got into it, however I returned to that after scholar updates and really didn’t enjoy it, vanilla was better but still my worst souls game.

Either way I know I’ll come back to it at some point, it seems to be a theme for me :D

I started my RL1 over a year ago, but I put it down after about 20 hours into the save, mostly because of Starscourge Radahn. Picked it back up a couple months ago, beat Radahn, fought my way up to Morgott, and haven’t played since.

Morgott is pretty rough when you can only afford 1-2 hits before death.

Finished the game once. Used the same character to start the dlc and enjoyed it a lot. Went on a work trip for a week. Started the game again, realized I was 1 minute before a boss. Tried boss a few times. Completely demotivated. Haven’t started the game since.

Managed to line up my first playthrough with the release of the DLC (finished all major bosses up to Godfrey/Horah Loux and 90% of the other bosses/dungeons before the DLC dropped), finally beat the DLC a couple of months ago and decided I wanted to go for 100%, so I finished all bosses in that playthrough and whatever quests I hadn’t already failed, and started a NG+ run. Taking more breaks to play other games at this point, but I’m still averaging a few hours a week.

I haven’t played in a few weeks since I’ve been revisiting the DS series. Last I played I was approaching mid game with a sorcerer build, but gave up because it just wasn’t fun. MGS is behind Astel who I do no damage to. I’m not sure MGS would even carry me. If I try sorcery again it’ll be my main respec’d on NG+3.

Started playing just a couple weeks ago, so I’m still getting used to the game. I’m also not proficient in soulslike games, the closest I’ve played are Witcher 3 and Jedi Fallen Order.

So far the game feels hard but rewarding, and I’m absolutely grateful for the possibility of saying “fuck this boss, I’m gonna go do something else and come back later with better stats and weapons”.

Also I’m sure my current build is dogshit, but I’m OK with that.
