I don’t understand what the motive could be for shooting at a passenger plane aside from straight up terrorism. What are they trying to accomplish?
My first thought was that it was a stray bullet from a pistol. No mention of what caliber the bullet was though, which would help determine possible intent
What are the chances of that? Plus I don’t think the runways are nearby anywhere. A lot more likely it was intentional.

That or it’s just a lone wolf good ol boy who deeply regrets his medication made him do that, and his pain and suffering from guilt is punishment enough.
