I’ve enabled auto download and installation of updates in the settings, but somehow they are never downloaded and installed in the background, nor when I do “install all”, they all prompt me for confirmation.
Is there some setting to change to make it work?
@QuazarOmega Update to latest 1.21.1 (expand Versions) and retry. Some GOS features impeded autoupdates this summer, but that has been fixed.
I personally use the neostore no issues with auto updating. Neo store usage f-droids repos bdw.
Are you asking about System Updates, the GrapheneOS App Store, Google Play Store, Aurora Store, F-Droid, or something else?
Edit: Didn’t check to see what community this was posted in. My bad. It doesn’t auto-update for me either.
Yup, strangely enough Aurora Store works flawlessly otherwise, even just updating one app that usually triggered the confirmation dialog for me on my last phone, doesn’t happen, and it just updates no questions asked
I know that they have to be installed once manually, but after that, the automatic updates should work. It’s been doing it for me for a long time now.
Running GrapheneOS 2024111800 on a Pixel 7 I get notified, when updates where downloaded but still have to install them manually.
Oh good, so I’m not alone on that, thought I was going crazy because my other non-Graphene devices install the updates just fine
That is my experience on other systems that don’t run GrapheneOS, yes
Oh, that’s weird. Okay. So it must be a particular graphene thing.
F-Droid Basic can do autoupdates on GrapheneOS, but has reduced features. For some older, but not necessarily outdated info on this topic, see here: https://discuss.grapheneos.org/d/16-f-droid-auto-updates/25
Regular F-droid can as well
Ah that’s interesting! Do you think that would be better than, say, Droidify, since I’d have to switch client?
Opinions on that really differ es you might have read, too. I would look at the alternatives in general and choose a well maintained one.
