Boring answer but it’s all software enhancement haha. My phone (OnePlus 5) comes with a “portrait” mode where only the foreground is kept clear and the rest is blurred. I assume that’s done through software but I could be wrong. I like it for squirrel picture as it makes them stand out a little more! I’d love to actually learn and practice photography, but I have other hobbies I’m prioritizing for now.
I think you’re probably right that it’s software, especially if “portrait mode” provides better results than other modes. I have some pics of my cat with red eye, and I’m curious to see whether the human-red-eye-reduction tools will work with cat eyes :)
