Belarus, Bolivia, Indonesia, Kazakhstan, Cuba, Malaysia, Thailand, Uganda, and Uzbekistan will join BRICS as partner countries.

Ushakov noted that these nations have expressed their eagerness to attain this status and mentioned that Moscow is awaiting a response from an additional four countries.

    Anybody who thinks joining BRICS will give them financial or physical security is a fool, tbh, but I can’t find it in me to condemn proper incentivized diplomacy.

        Idk, they’ve bailed out entire nation’s failing economies. It’s not like they started repossessing furniture or anything, lol.

        EDIT: I do admit they can be weaponized by refusing to work with nations on the basis of political alignment.

          IMF have usually demanded austerity which usually leads to government schemes for the poors to be cut. They also demand political alignment to western demands.
