Summary
Fox News’s attempt to find support for Donald Trump in Greenland backfired, as most residents expressed disinterest in his proposals.
While one Trump supporter was found, the majority of Greenlanders interviewed criticized Trump’s comments and expressed a preference for remaining under Danish rule.
Despite these setbacks, Trump continues to advocate for acquiring Greenland, citing economic security concerns.
Acts of war are different than the crimes he has been accused of.
Since 99% of Greenland is uninhabited, he could just claim those parts and let the few towns choose whether they wanted to join or not. It actually is a little weird that just 50,000 people can “own” a gigantic 99% uninhabited island the size of Greenland.
But I think the claim is that he wants to purchase Greenland from Denmark. There is actually a historical precedent for exactly that. The USA purchased the Virgin Islands from Denmark in 1917. We also purchased
Puerto Rico from Spain, Louisiana, Arkansas, Oklahoma etc from France, and Alaska from Russia. We did not purchase Puerto Rico. We took that in war.
You’re right. There was no payment for Puerto Rico. The payment to Spain was for the Phillipines
And Denmark and Greenland have no interest in the sake which is why pursuing this any further is an act of war by the USA on a NATO country.
Trump can’t claimland that is already owned by another nation.
Most of Alaska is empty and uninhabited does that mean China, Mongolia or Canada could claim it?
Regardless he’s doing this to benefit Russia amd not the USA as Trump does not work for the American people.
