I also have all my runs on Strava, but I choose who I let to follow me, and also privacy zones setup. It’s not an issue that you’re sharing, it’s only issue if you’re sharing it randomly.
One of only four accounts on Monday evening that had liked post about Rzhytsky’s last run shares the name of Major General Kyrylo Budanov – the head of Ukraine’s military intelligence.
You can’t make this up! I’ll stop sharing my runs just to be safe, thanks!
this was literally a joke in GTA, some npc got kidnapped bc he was posting his runs on social despite being a top secret government agent. and now it’s in real life too. wild.
lo fucking l
I have my runs on Garmin Connect with “only me” visibility by default, and I “unlock” individual activities manually when I want to share a link to them. I am also not following anyone there - I basically ignore all the social elements of the app.
I’ve been toying with switching to a self-hosted alternative, but haven’t found a good enough one. The closest I found to what I’d be willing to use is https://github.com/SamR1/FitTrackee.
Why is there even an app for this? People are weird
Welcome to the Internet. We have apps for everything.
