There may or may not have been homosexual coupling in the pre-colonial era; but it’s not out of the question considering there were homosexual gods in the indigenous religions and 4 or more genders in the indigenous culture.
That’s a very good point, but if you read the title literally it’s still correct, has the Philippines only exists as a unified country under that colonial name since Spanish colonization. It’s still the first lesbian marriage in the “Philippines”, even though there may have been others on the archipelago before that.
