It’s good to make fascists have to do fascism rather than just have everyone jump to comply in advance. They want people to just buckle under and go along, because a bunch of clueless people think an unopposed action is just the system working as intended, and if the courts are saying “you can’t do this unpopular thing” and Trump does the unpopular thing, they have to pay attention and give credence to the opposition. Fascists don’t get elected and then just instantly have domination over society. There’s a reason they do all the bread and circuses and propaganda, because they still can’t rule if the people turn against them.

So fight every losing battle and make him break the rules, even if you think it won’t be that transgression that breaks the camel’s back. Just assuming he has absolute power and cannot be opposed is what he wants.
