I’ve read on a few instances about why people hate on exploding heads. But all the links they post link to the tameist shit.
Like… people having discussions about how it’s nice that Germany is trying to give reperation monies to holocaust victums. Or… just boring rational discussions about things. (most recent things I’ve come across, I forget the old lemmy.world stuff, but that was tame too.) Or, at the very worst, baseless accusations without evidence.
Seriously, this post right here is probably more offensive than anything I’ve seen people use as evidence as to why they should defederate from exploding heads.
Because we do not enforce the approved narrative.
Rather we welcome independent thought, diverse opinions, discussion, and debate.

It’s funny that we can see what instances are federated with which.
People so through the roof insane that they would willingly have their balls cut off (and would drug up a child because he wondered what being a girl is like or was nervous about t his voice breaking) aren’t capable of rational thought like you are.
I think it’s because once they can’t take a joke. Like trans memes. When I see or if I see things I don’t like on EH (which is rare) it doesn’t bother me.
That goes for the internet in general. I don’t let frivolous things ruin my day.
Mostly it’s because we don’t just agree with everything they do. There are ppl in the world who don’t have the same world view as everyone else that’s just a fact.
I WOULD like to see them join, and create communities they like. That would be really nice. But they are too scared

Because we don’t promote left naritive and we post too “offensive” memes (even though I have never see a meme that results in someone getting killed).
Because it’s a fairly conservative instance, which is okay with poking fun at gays and trannies. I know don’t if you’ve been on Reddit or Twitter, but that shit doesn’t fly, and most lemmy instances are going to be just as or more liberal.
Also worshipping Trump or the chunky Italian is a direct contradiction to most of their political beliefs.
If you need to think about it more than that, then thinking clearly isn’t your strong suit.
Lemmy is literally by commies, and the culture reflects that.
What is also funny is that the reparations article was presented without commentary and the shock was that it was such a massive number that had been paid, decade after decade…
A truly progressive group would also point out that this money was going largely towards Israel, which is an apartheid state, to back up Israeli narratives… But that isn’t really what those leftists over there complaining about this are, now is it?

Yeah, i think the western society did a good job discussing and documenting the holocoust. The only thing that is exagerated in depictions of the time is that the whole german army and society supported the nazis, which they did not.
The lesson that we have to learn is the good people did nothing to stop evil. There is a book about the normalization of evil which i forgot from who now.
Right - the Holocaust reparations thing was insane to me because at no point does it involve any Holocaust denial anywhere. In fact, the policy is not even criticized or commented upon… It’s treated as a news story, and what criticism may have occurred centers around the fact that so much is still spent for an age cohort that has now largely died out…
Nowadays, they just point out all the memes we have that make fun of trans people.

People are just hypersensitive and think of any amount of “transphobia” as a gateway to all forms of hatred.
It makes no sense since most people, I think, come to alternatives for reddit and social media for maximized free speech and to see dissenting opinions but these guys act like the purpose is greater levels of control and censorship (lol).
