Ukraine should make a deal with the EU for those minerals. Their word still means something, the US makes empty promises it has no intention of keeping.
This would be a great deal for both sides, but EU lacks military stockpiles and production capacity at the moment to be of any use for Ukraine.
They may want to remedy that, what with the US focusing elsewhere and Russia actively sabotaging German military equipment.
They are looking to increase the military spending by €500 billion on EU level.
A deal with Trump will surly be a worse deal with no guarantee but betrayal.
Or like promise the US and not deliver on that promise
