Most of the Public Thinks Foreign Aid Accounts for a Much Larger Share of Federal Spending than It Does, and That Misperception Contributes to People’s Support for Budget Cuts
This is what we get for being bad at math (and critical thinking)
In theory it could reduce the budget, but we all know in reality it’s just going to be siphoned off into some rich assholes accounts (most likely Musk). Also that’s only looking at the short term impact. Long term abandoning US soft power like this will inevitably pull the US into more wars and conflict which will just inflate our already grossly bloated defense budget. The US is going to start looking a lot like the USSR right before it collapsed.
In theory it could reduce the budget
It really is a dog and pony show. It looks good to certain people, but it doesn’t pencil out, especially long term as you mention.
What little money USAID was allocated is going to be stolen or flushed down the crypto drain.
Tax cuts you’ll never see.
If by “Domestic Programs” you mean Tesla and SpaceX.
Wow, maybe the EU should start picking up the slack! Who else is going to fund musicals in Ireland? The Irish?
Stop watching conservative propaganda.
USAID is a combination soft power program, humanitarian program, and US economic program (yes, money spent at home). You can always find a way to spin nonsense from program abstracts but that doesn’t make that nonsense relevant to the discussion.
