Unlike WhatsApp that has millions to throw in marketing, come preinstalled on devices and by know “everyone uses it” other smaller projects that are not making money out of you need your help to do the “marketing” part
@Comtief@adbenitez I think the best alternative to WhatsApp, which at least isn’t META and is relatively secure, is Telegram. The rest are difficult to use because they have few users.

Yes I use telegram daily, but generally everyone here where i live uses Facebook messenger.
@Comtief Try switching to Telegram. Meta is never an option. Between them and Google, you’ll never have privacy.

@dbencom @Comtief Telegram doesn’t even offer E2EE by default, it’s as worse as unencrypted RCS, and you share a lot of metadata with the company.
Signal, SimpleX, even XMPP+OMEMO and Delta Chat are way better than Telegram if we talk about privacy/security.
