She could probably count the number of times he said it in their whole relationship on her fingers. Practically being incapable of intimate communication is one of his character flaws.
He exhibits this flaw lovingly too, basically letting her use communication with him to speak to herself as he just nods along as long as she’s happy. I think this leads to some of Peggy’s more narcissistic traits too imo, like thinking she speaks flawless Spanish despite it being fairly obvious she cannot haha.
She’s confident in that fact because Hank never stopped telling her it was true. That’s the magic of staying with someone a long time.
