She thought he was mentally challenged and basically treated him like a kid. He thought she was flirting with him.

Every time I’ve tried to sit down and watch full episodes, it reinforced that it’s not really my thing. It’s a lot of awkward/verging on cringe humor and that’s typically not something I enjoy. I have seen like clips/compilations I’ve thought were incredibly funny though and I think that’s good enough for me.

The first season is basically a copy of the british version and is much more cringe. It gets more light-hearted.

Like video game recommendations where people say ‘it gets better after the first xx hours’ I’m going to give it a pass.

Pretty much every form of entertainment is subjective. Nobody is trying to force you into watching one of the best shows ever ;)

I agree with this wholeheartedly. And I say it all the time. But there are two exceptions to this rule according to me: the witcher 3 and the office…

I used to not like it too. But then I actually worked in a setting where everyones personality clashes in really stupid ways. People take it too seriously, Horrible jokes/pranks, nepotism, work relationships, nerds, psychos, OCD, and so on. Its such an accurate take on “I hate it here but everyday is a trip”.

Just like real life after the awkward getting to know everyone phase, the series starts to make you really care about these Idiots. The show is very self aware and the cringe you feel, is the same feeling you get being a new guy in a room full of randoms who are all just “trying” to get along.

if you dont like the american one, Id recommend the british version. I understand if its still not your thing, and it is a huge time investment. Id say its worth it, LOTS of people like the show, so its a good topic to bring up, or even put on in the background.

Yo, the newish Australian version of ‘The Office’ is pretty good, especially for those who like the more subtle humour of the original UK version.

That’s fine, I think it weird people in the replies are trying to change your mind.

We don’t all need to experience the same things, spend your time how you want. Go for a peaceful walk, work on a project, or optimize your sex dungeon. Life is always more fulfilling when you do the things you want to do.
