My city has been investing in bicycle infrastructure over the past few years.
And I mean taking 2 lanes and converting a lane with a 2 lane bike path and traffic dividers. Stuff like this:
Driving this weekend I saw an elderly man in maybe his 70s on a three wheeled ebike (eTrike?) pull up to his home and go get groceries out the back basket.
I shouted “Hey, nice bike” while stuck in traffic. He gave me the nicest grandpa smile and waved at me.
Not everyone can peddle all day. It was nice seeing this guy still get out and be independent. I also feel safer with him not driving a pickup truck or something.
