I feel lucky that I’ve found hobbies where I enjoy the practicing instead of the results. Everything I’ve tried with a goal is mind has eventually been dropped, but the ones that I enjoy regardless of results have stuck around. Eventually I even got good at some.
Aside from results, it’s also when you run into some issue that wastes time/effort at best and needs to be actively resolved (materials or other process stuff) at worst. Lots of ways that make it worse, too (lack of help, energy, money, transportation etc).
Nah, but I’d just overcomplicate everything as usual. There’s a reason why every piece of tech I get is hardly working software-wise after I play around with it.
Like, when learning something, and I start taking notes, I start to overcomplicate how they should look. I keep thinking of more and more stuff to add and cover with my “format”, and then I keep forgetting the proper “format” so I keep going back through the notes just to figure out… I don’t know… how many different headings I have and their applications.
And then I can’t continue for certain reasons because, say I used red, green and blue pen + yellow, green, pink and orange highlighter, but one of them has run out, and I don’t have a replacement, but I need the red pen because how else am I going to do sections, and now I’ve run out of time.And when it comes to the first part, I am too lazy to write a cheatsheet for easier consistency.
On the other hand, I may not do it, and then I’ll never look at my notes again.
