Fascinating! Thank you for sharing. Is peanut butter a common item for the British? Do y’all eat peanut butter and jelly sandwiches? Sorry if this is a silly question, I genuinely want to know more! Did you know you can make Peanut butter cookies?!

We do have peanut butter! It’s not nearly as popular though, eg if you have toast you’ll probably have just butter, marmite, jam/marmalade or honey. We don’t generally eat pbj sandwiches although it does happen. You can get peanut butter cookies but not many varieties and tragically we don’t have Peanut butter M&Ms

Yeah, my missus always has some in the cupboard to snack on. I’m not really sure what people do with it apart from sandwiches though - never heard of anyone combining it with, er, jam on our side of the moat either.

It’s good on crackers, celery, in milkshakes, probably good as-is on all kinds of baked breads, and can be used in various soups or curries. Sometimes I treat myself to a giant spoonful of it while I read, and I just slowly lick and nibble it and savor the flavor.

Not all peanut butters are created equal.

My mum has passed down to me the beauty of a banana and peanut butter sandwich, ive tried with Jam a couple times but only because of all the noise about it from the states!
