This weekās theme is borrowed from the current reddit songaweek. Thank you u/ahniwa
Yesterday we were blessed with a blue supermoon, blue because it was our second full moon in August, and super because of how close it was to earth. The moon represents a lot of different things. She is the sacred feminine. She is light, but also darkness. She pushes and pulls our tides, is at pace with the flow of our lives, changes men into wolves, and is the patron saint of crazy. Lunacy, after all ā¦ itās right there in the word.
This week write a song about, or inspired in some way by, the moon.
Some inspiration to get the creative juices flowing:

New to posting, new to music creation. Iāve always loved instruments, but have only recently started to take any playing seriously. This is a stick dulcimer Iām playing, sort of a light weight version of the standard instrument.
Have always loved looking at the moon, gave the āsongā a whistful vibe. Instrumental, though I wrote a poem to accompany it, in the description of the song on SoundCloud. Only a minute long, but this is the first thing of this sort Iāve done before.
A bit of an early upload, but Iād love to hear tips on what I could be doing differently.
Dude, thatās sounds great. Thank you for taking the plunge. Itās a very nice melody. Definitely in the folk vibe, I can envision an old sailor sitting on a dock playing this an staring at the moon. Have you tried singing that poem along with your music? It actually seems to fit.
Thanks, that means a lot! Love that imagery for sure.
I originally had it in mind to do those as lyrics, but sort of lost the thread in terms of whatās āsupposedā to be played underneath them. Was tinkering with the just the chords, but decided to post. I might give it another shot before the Wednesday.
