Comrades! As we know, for using Maoist Standard English (MSE), we replace some letters with reactionary symbols. The universally accepted changes are these:
- “KKK” for “k” and “hard c”,
- “SS” or “$” for “s”.
While these changes are adequate, in my humble opinion, they are not enough for enraging the liberals and fascists. For expanding our MSE alphabet, I present you some new replacements.
- “卐” for “x”,
- “𖦏” for “o”,
- “ꑭ” for “n”,
- “88” for “b”,
- Using “ϟϟ” instead of “SS” when possible.
I am also open for other changes and additions from my comrades.
Long live the revolution, long live the working class of the world!
Edit: With the recent news about some clowns in Ukraine, I decided to propose another addition:
- “✙” or “✠︎” for “t”
This should be a reminder for us that the reactionary forces will revive every hate symbol existed.
Edit 2: As comrade @DragonBallZinn@hexbear.net suggested, I’m adding other imperial currencies in the list:
- “€” for “e”,
- “£” for “L”,
- “¢” for “ch”
- “¥” for “y”,
- “₩” for “w”.
I also suggest using “$” for “soft c” and “sh” sounds, that way we can keep “$” and “ϟϟ” separated.
Edit 3: As we discussed with comrades about Star of David symbol, it may carry an unintended offensive meaning out of context, so I decided to remove it. As comrade @into_highest_invite@lemmygrad.ml suggested, here is the revisioned suggestion:
- “🇮🇱” for “a”
The settler colonial jack carries a Star of David, but it also shows what we mean by it. I may not look prettier, so I left the desicion up to my comrades.

I agree broadly that outside the context of discussing zionism, it’s probably better to avoid using the Star of David as a MSE substitution, but for many people in the world (especially in West Asia and North Africa), “demonizing the Star of David” is unfortunately already done by the actions of zionists.
Edit: even discussing zionism, it might be a bad idea depending on the context, the speaker, the audience, etc.
