Hello, I’m interested in hearing some fun vegan recipes that aren’t too complicated/take less than 30 minutes to cook. A lot of what I make is pretty intensive so I wanted to hear some good ideas for stuff that isn’t if you guys wouldn’t mind sharing.

I haven’t managed to make this into a proper recipe, but I discovered how to make a quick toast-fries snack on the microwave. I’m not vegan myself and only used regular bakery bread so far but I assume it works perfectly with vegan breads or other crumbly flour products.

First you chop up a potato in small enough bits and completely destroy a half/quarter bread into breadcrumbs. Then you mix both adding some olive oil and whatever spices you like (I usually only put oregano) and a bit of salt until every potato is covered in oily crumbs. After that you put it in a cup made of glass or unpainted porcelain. I used a black porcelain one once and it came out tasting terrible and was definitely not safe to eat. And finally you put this cup inside a deep non-plastic plate that has salted water to preventing it from overheating and burning unequally.

Now you just need to put that whole contraption into the microwave and let it run for 1-2 minutes at a time, making sure to always open it between runs to let steam come out and control the temperature. By the fourth or fifth run you’ll probably have some crisp toast-fries thing, without having to deal with all the issues that come with frying straight on a pan with oil.

This recipe brought to you by “being out of kitchen gas while depressed”.
