My Mom’s friend in Windsor has some insights into the “Windsor pizza” scene and potential replacements for riverside tavern

I know how much he loves the pizza there but tbh we have 1000 times better places than Riverside Tavern. Don’t get me wrong, back in the day when we were in high school the taverns pizza was awesome. But trust me …there is so much better now!

Number one is Antonino’s!!!

As a matter of fact, we are holding [a] wedding rehearsal dinner at his original restaurant.

His pizza is PHENOMENAL. Next as a close second would be Arcata Pizza, Capri Pizza, Armando’s Pizza and I would also say Roma Pizza. Roma Pizza is in Riverside opposite side of the street from Riverside Tavern and I’d say a couple blocks over. When growing up my Dad always ordered from Roma. But when you come … we’ll order in Antonino’s. I promise you it would be a matter of just one bite of Joe’s pizza and [you] will forget all about Riverside Tavern! I swear!!

I think the ‘barbecue sauce’ is just a thing at Riverside Tavern

It’s definitely not common with pizza anywhere else. Tbh I didn’t even know about any barbecue sauce with Riverside Taverns pizza
